I am a California lawyer with 10 years experience in Trademarks, Copyright, Intellectual Property and Contract Law. I also have a serious travel bug. Let me explain:
When I was in my early 20s, having graduated with an electrical engineering degree, I lived all across Canada, in Hong Kong, Australia and New York City. After 9/11, I returned to Canada to attend law school at the University of Calgary, and I completed my studies with a focus in intellectual property at the University of Ottawa. I practiced in Patents and Trademarks in Canada for 4 years before starting a patent law firm in San Diego, California, USA. With two small kids at just the right age to see the World, our itchy feet led the way and we left beautiful California to travel the world with our children as digital nomads with kids. With advances in modern technology, it has become easy to interact with clients from anywhere in the world. Traveling is our hobby, and it keeps us learning, which I believe is good for the brain. It also lowers the overhead costs, so we can pass those savings on to our clients. Our attorneys are all digital nomads traveling the world because it is our belief that i) people who are having fun in their lives enjoy their work more and work better, and ii) people who like to travel are interesting and intelligent people we want to work with.
